Bonfire

After we got home for the Indiana last weekend, "we" (mostly Jeremy) worked in the yard all afternoon. Then, the kids picked up fallen sticks and helped Dad start a bonfire so we could roast marshmallows after dinner. A little reward for their hard work!

I told Leah the limit was two marshmallows. She somehow managed to eat about 10 before we even started roasting. I was inside cleaning up after dinner . It makes my stomach hurt just thinking about it. After the sugar high, they went to bed early.

This summer, Jeremy used a chainsaw and sander to build the benches around the firepit. A friend of his tree clearer and saved a large one for him. He was able to build two benches out of one tree, by cutting it in half, shaving off the tops to make a flat surface. Then he rounded them out and used the ends to make bases. They look really sharp!

Wow! I love the firepit! The bench looks really cool, and I love how you have huge rocks all the way around it. It looks so nice and cozy...I bet you will love using that for years to come!
